This morning I kept breakfast very simple due to the fact that my stomach has been messed up from the long weekend.
I consumed entirely too much sugar for my body to handle, and it made me realized why I try to regularly cut back my sugar in take. I love sweets, but I am not good at eating them in moderation, which becomes a problem because I end up eating way too much. In result, I feel sluggish, sick, and tired. No good. The cure this morning was oats!
In the mix:
1/2 cup oats
1 cup organic soy milk
1 tbs. cocoa powder
pinch of sea salt
I'm loving this simple combo.
Usual apple on the side
These oats were plain and simple, just the way I like them. I'm hoping they will help my stomach get back to its normal self. I just wanna feel well again. I'm off to work and then home (!). I get to leave work early today, but I have a feeling the day will dragggg on. Enjoy your day everyone and I'll be back later with a new recipe!

Back in action
Good morning! After my couple days of unplugging I'm finally back in action! I actually had zero time to blog this weekend because all of my friends from school came into town and it was go go go all the time. The entire weekend I didn't have one time to sit just sit down and relax...or blog. It was well worth it though.
For breakfast tonight I decided on oats. Something about the warmness of them was really appealing, which is odd considering its 95* today.
In the mix:
1/3 cup of oats
1 tbsp. cocoa powder
1/2 cup of milk
pinch of sea salt
On top:
2 tbsp. of chocolate PB2
Handful of Kashi GoLean
On the side a Fuji apple
***On Thursday night, we attended a Mets game. The Mets are obviously not my team of choice (go Redlegs!), but if I had to pick a second it would definitely be them. Unfortunately, it poured prior to the start of the game, so the game was postponed for two hours. Still fun though! That brown bag is my packed lunch he he. My friends made fun of me, but hey the food at the stadium is uber expensive and I can bet you my food was five times more real and healthy than anything served there!
On Friday night, my friends and I went back to the good ole' Bronx where I attend school. We visited some of our friends who live there during the summer. It was weird being back since not many people are around during the summer and in result everything was a bit empty. However, it did feel good to be back to the place where I call home eight months out of the year. Fun ensued after that!
Lots of food, drink, and fun.
Saturday night, we went to my friend Kelly's who was having a family party. We danced the night away and partied with her family and friends where games of flip cup and beer pong were played. I was DD for the night! The below picture is Bridget and I practicing the dance we choreographed to "Edge of Glory" by GaGa. Yes, we are fools.
Friends and fun, sometimes there is nothing better. I'm pretty sure I ate my weight this weekend and I am announcing this week "clean eating week." Saying it on the blog means I am now accountable! I must get back to feeling normal again before my birthday bash begins this weekend! Grace and Olivia get here NOW. I'm off to do that intern thing, hope you had a lovely weekend!

Dead Squirrel
I woke up around 9:30, kind of late for me but I didn't go to bed till 2:30 am since I was up with Ellen watching Leno and various Youtube videos. I encourage all of you to check this one out especially if you haven't already: Girl plays with dead squirrel. Ellen and I were laughing hysterically, please watch it!
After waking up I watched about a half hour worth of my favorite network, HGTV. Seriously, nothing beats it.
I started to get hungry around 10 am and made myself another bowl of oats. Similar combo to yesterday.
Inside my bowl:
1/3 cup of oats
1/3 cup of water
1/3 cup of 1% milk
1 heaping tbs. of cocoa powder
Added after nuking:
Handful of All Bran cereal
A couple oatmeal squares
Small tbs. of melty chunky peanut butter
On the side I also enjoyed a very ripe Harry and David pair, instead of my usual apple.
After breakfast Ellen and I walked to the Post Office and made a trip to Starbucks. I got the usual: Venti Iced Unsweetened Passion Tea..so good! And since I know you all probably don't just want to see pictures of my food, I took an embarrassing picture of myself and my tea...
I don't know what is on the agenda for today considering Bridget is still sleeping. Yes, it is 12:30 pm. Yes, she is ridiculous. I am definitely doing some sort of exercise, not sure what yet but I will be sure to post it! Also on the agenda- babysitting in Battery Park, a place where I have never been so I'm interested to see what it has to offer. Apparently its a really nice area. Catch ya later!

First Post, Booyah!!
Welcome to Everyday Caroline where I'll share my eats and everyday life ! This is my first blog post and I'm super excited, woot woot!! I've wanted to start a blog for quite some time now and I finally manned up and created one, phew! In this blog you can follow my everyday life and eats as well as the recipes I attempt...whether I fail or succeed! I love cooking, baking, fitness, nutrition and anything that has to do with a healthy and active lifestyle.
This morning for breakfast I made one of my favorites...oatmeal!
Inside my bowl included:
1/3 cup oats
1/3 cup 1% milk
1/3 cup water
1 heaping tbs. of cocoa powder
Added in at end:
1 tbs. of peanut butter (I believe it was Skippy Natural)
a handful of Bear Naked Fit Granola
a couple Quaker Oatmeal Squares
a splash up milk to get things movin'
| oats + granny smith+ sunshine |
Along with my oats and apple I also enjoyed some green tea.
| gooeeyyyy |
This bowl was delishhh! The cocoa melted into chocolate and made the oats super creamy and gooey--love! I can always count on oats to keep me full all morning. Whole grains + fiber = just what I need! I'm off to run in the heat of New York City. Rumor has it its supposed to surpass 100* today! Oh boy..can't wait to see how long I'll last out there, catch ya later for lunch. Have a fabulous day :)
