Battery Park

It was 1:30 when Bridget finally arose from her slumber and by that time I was more than ready to hit the gym. She and Ellen decided to go to Lord and Taylor for their huge sale they were having today. I reeealllly wanted to join them, but opted out for a workout instead. I haven't been in two days and I was feeling a bit sluggish, plus you never regret a workout! Right? Right.

I completed the following workout, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT):

After this I completed my workout with ten minutes on the stairmaster (killer!!) and ten easy minutes on the elliptical. I was a sweaty mess by the time I was done. After working out Bridget and Ellen picked me up and I quickly showered when we got home. Then it was lunch time. I was staaaaarving. Today's lunch included a whole bunch of different foods.

Started with this..

Then this happened..

Mrs. McCarthy had two of her students over for a midday get together and she made this scrumptious spread of food for them. I had my fair share of fruit, a few spoonfuls of hummus, some unpictured broccoli rabe, and carrots and peanut butter.

After we ate, we rushed to the train station to catch our train to Battery Park. We took the train to Penn Station and then the Subway to the very tip of downtown.

Area around Battery Park

We were very close to Wall Street, but we were at the heart of the 9/11 site.

Construction of memorial and new tower

After walking from the subway past the site, we came upon the place where we were babysitting for the night while Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy went out to dinner with friends. The apartment was really nice and had gorgeous, unbelievable views of the Hudson River.

Can you spot the statue?

Beautiful!

The kids were so cute and also not photogenic due to Harry Potter

For dinner we ordered pizza, but instead I opted for a big salad. Tomatoes + onions + oil and vinegar + a lil' marinara sauce

I was still hungry so I snacked on some granola and made myself some broccoli with ketchup. Yum.

After some talk we decided that since we were already in the city and relatively close to Lincoln Center we were also going to drive uptown to the Upper West Side to move me out of my horrid apartment. Spur of the moment decision! It was quite awkward to move out because when I walked in my roommate was sleeping at 9:30 on a Friday night. Grrr. Anyway, we did it and its over, which is all that matters now. After a long day I am more than ready for bed! Sorry for the long post, but I had a lot to say! Good night.
